How to Add Booking Type Level Booking Questions


These are questions added to specific Booking Types, so they are only asked when people book those particular things, be they Group Events, Appointments or Subscriptions.


This would be useful, for example, when you run classes for different types of customer, such as Adult classes and Child classes - the questions you need to ask for these classes may be different. This tutorial covers how to achieve this in Book That In.


All questions added at Booking Type Level are asked for each Participant.

How to Customise Booking Questions for Group Events (e.g. classes or events):

  1. Navigate to the Business Menu and select 'Group Overview'.
  2. Select the Event or Class: 
    • Find the class or event you want to customise questions for.
    • Click on 'Options' and select 'Custom Fields'.
  3. Edit the Participant Name Field: 
    • You can change the default 'Participant Name' field to something more specific, such as 'Child's Name' or 'Adult's Name'.
  4. Add New Fields: 
    • Click on the 'Add New Field' button. 
    • Enter a title for the new field, such as 'Child's Date of Birth'. 
    • Choose whether the field is mandatory or not. 
    • Select the type of input (e.g., date picker for date of birth). 
    • Repeat this process for additional fields, such as 'Medical Conditions', and choose the appropriate input type.
  5. Save Changes: Click 'Save' to apply the changes.
  6. Verify: 
    • Go to your booking form and select the class or event you customised. 
    • Check if the new fields are displayed as intended.


How to Customise Booking Questions for Appointments or Subscriptions:

  1. Select the Type of Booking: 
    • Click on the 'Business' drop-down menu and select either 'Appointments' or 'Subscriptions'.
  2. Choose the Booking Option: 
    • From the list on the left-hand side, select the appointment or subscription you want to edit.
  3. Edit: 
    • Click on 'Edit' in the top right-hand corner. 
    • Scroll to the bottom and click 'Next' from the first screen. 
    • For appointments, select 'Next' again. 
    • You will now see screen to edit Custom Fields.
  4. Add Custom Fields:
    • Click on the 'Add New Field' button. 
    • Enter a title for the new field, such as 'Child's Date of Birth'. 
    • Choose whether the field is mandatory or not. 
    • Select the type of input (e.g., date picker for date of birth).
