What is the "Participant's Name" Field
The "Participant's Name" field is necessary and always mandatory, as this is the field that records who is actually attending and participating in the event or class.
Each 'Participant' has their own calendar on your customer's account, so they can see what they have booked and for whom.
Why would I want to change the label for the "Participant's Name" Field?
For many businesses, the phrasing of "Participant's Name" for the field will be perfect, and will not require changing.
However, for some businesses, another label may be better for this field, so you can better specify whose name you wish to be filled in for this question.
For example, activities that involve children may require parents and children to attend together, and the label "Participant's Name" may be confusing for the person booking - is the parent the 'participant'? Or is it the child?
For instances like these, Book That In has introduced a feature that allows you to change the label on this field to something else, like "Child's Name", "Guardian's Name", or "Attendee's Name."

Here are the steps to change the "Participant Name Label" for Group Events, Appointments, and Subscriptions:
For All Booking Types:
- Go to your Company Settings on Book That In.
- Click on the "Booking Form" tab on the right-hand side.
- Click on the "Set Participant Name Label" button.
- Change the label to whatever you want. e.g. Set it to "Child" if you want the question to display as "Child's Name".
- Click "Update."
- Refresh your booking form to see the changes.
- This change will apply to every booking type you have on your account, including subscriptions, appointments, and group events.
For a specific Event or Class Type:
- Go to your Group Overview
- Go to the event's "Options" and then select "Custom Fields."
- You can change the "Participant Name" Label for only this Group Event Type here.
- Save the changes.
For specific Appointment Types:
- Go to the "Business" tab and then "Appointments."
- Select the appointment on the left-hand side, then click "Edit" in the top right-hand corner..
- Click "Next" twice until you get to the "Custom Fields" screen.
- Set the "Participant Name Label" to whatever you want.
- Click "Save Changes."
For specific Subscription Types:
To change the "Participant Name Label" for Subscriptions, follow these steps:
- Go to the "Business" tab and then "Subscriptions."
- Select the Subscription on the left-hand side, then click "Edit" in the top right-hand corner..
- Click "Next" once to get to the "Custom Fields" screen.
- Set the "Participant Name Label" to whatever you want.
- Click "Save Changes."
