Custom values let you personalise your emails by automatically inserting specific information, such as a recipient’s name or booking details.
This is especially useful when sending emails to lots of people at the same time, but you want the email to feel personal.
In this tutorial, we'll walk through the steps for adding custom values - like a child's first name or your own email signature - into an email template.
Video Walk-Through:
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the Email Template Editor
Start by opening the email template you want to customise.
Navigate to the part of the email where you'd like to insert a custom value.
Step 2: Position Your Cursor
Place your cursor exactly where you want the custom value to appear in the email text.
Step 3: Click the 'Custom Values' Icon
At the top of the editor, look for an icon that resembles a field with a line input:
- Hover over it to confirm it's labelled "Custom Values", then click on it.
Step 4: Search for the Custom Value You Need
A list of available custom values will appear.
If you're looking for a specific value (e.g. child’s name), use the search bar to filter results. For example, type “child”.
Step 5: Select the Appropriate Field
Choose the value that suits your needs. For example:
Child’s First Name – inserts only the first name.
Child’s Full Name – inserts the full name entered during booking.
Any field can be selected
Step 6: Insert the Value
Once selected, the field will automatically be added to your email at the position of your cursor.
It will appear as a placeholder (e.g.
{{child_first_name}}
), which will be replaced with real data when the email is sent.
Step 7: Review and Save
Double-check the email content to ensure all placeholders are in the right place.
Save your changes once you’re satisfied.
