Sometimes, it may become necessary for you to change the Stripe account through which payments are processed for your Book That In bookings.

WARNING: Removing your stripe account will prevent you from refunding old bookings; charging old customers' cards; auto re-enrolling old customers and managing existing subscriptions through book that in.

Most updates can be directly within your Stripe account without needing to use a new one.

For example, changing your bank account details, email, company name and notifications can all be done within your Stripe account without needing to change it.

However, from time to time, it can become necessary to replace a Stripe account, for example, if you have bought a new franchise and are unable to inherit the old franchisee's Stripe account.

In that case, you can follow the instructions in the following video to remove an old Stripe account and link a new one to your Book That In account:

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Log in to BookThatIn

  1. Go to bookthatin.com and log in.

  2. Navigate to Business > Company Settings.

  3. Click on Payment Providers.

Step 2: Unlink Your Stripe Account

  1. Click on Remove Stripe Account.

  2. A confirmation message will appear asking if you’re sure. Click OK.

  3. The system will send an email to the account owner with an unlink code.

  4. Open the email, copy the unlink code, and paste it into the field provided in BookThatIn.

  5. Click Unlink.

  6. Stripe will now be disconnected.

⚠️ At this point, customers can still make bookings, but they will not be able to pay until a new Stripe account is linked.

Step 3: Link a New Stripe Account

  1. Go back to Payment Providers.

  2. Where it says No, click to toggle it to Yes.

  3. Click on Connect with Stripe.

  4. You’ll be redirected to Stripe’s login page.

  5. Log in using the credentials of your new Stripe account.

  6. If your login gives access to multiple Stripe accounts, select the one you want to use.

  7. Scroll down and click Connect.

  8. You’ll be redirected back to BookThatIn.

Step 4: Confirm the Connection

  1. In BookThatIn, go back to Companies > Payment Providers.

  2. You should now see your new Stripe account listed.

  3. The Remove Stripe Account button will also reappear, confirming that the new account is active.

  4. New customers can now book and pay through your new Stripe account.

Conclusion

Unlinking and linking a Stripe account in BookThatIn should only be done when absolutely necessary, as it severs connections with old payments and subscriptions. However, if you need to change accounts, following these steps ensures your new Stripe account is properly connected so customers can continue to book and pay without disruption.
